Marc-André Lewis, PhD
President and Chief Investment Officer
As President and Chief Investment Officer, Marc-André Lewis leads CI Global Asset Management and oversees the ongoing development of the firm’s integrated global investment platform.
Dr Lewis brings more than 20 years of global investing experience, having held senior leadership roles at several of the world’s largest institutional investors. His expertise spans asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management across public and private markets, with deep experience in both fundamental and quantitative investment strategies.
Prior to joining CI GAM in September 2021, Marc-André was Head of Portfolio Construction at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds. In this role, he was responsible for strategic asset allocation, quantitative research and alternative indexing initiatives, and served on both the executive and tactical asset allocation committees within ADIA’s Strategy and Planning Department.
Previously, he was Senior Vice-President and Deputy Chief Risk Officer at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), where he led teams responsible for analysing and monitoring risk across global public and private portfolios and served on the firm’s asset allocation committee. Earlier roles at CDPQ included Senior Vice-President, Risk Management – Fixed Income and Overlay Strategies. He also served as Senior Vice-President, Fixed Income at Natcan Investment Management, overseeing the management of approximately $16 billion in Canadian and global fixed income assets.
Marc-André holds a PhD in theoretical physics from Sorbonne University, along with an MSc in theoretical physics and a BSc in mathematics and physics from Université de Montréal.
