Speaking to ausbiz tv, Stephen Miller suggests that elevated uncertainties mean the RBA could lean towards a tightening bias concealed within a neutral stance. He argues that there is already an implied tightening bias present, as reflected in the RBA’s recent statement. However, the hesitancy to openly express this seems to be rooted in concerns surrounding risks to household consumption, subdued out growth, and a potential weakening of the labour market.
